Your pet is an important part of your life. Should you trust someone who is not a board certified veterinary surgeon to do surgery on your pet?

The surgeons at VSC love animals and know that your pet is a beloved member of the family. Only a board certified (residency trained) Veterinary Surgeon has the proven experience and training necessary to be considered a surgical specialist. A non-board certified veterinarian can legally perform any procedure, but very few of them have the experience and training necessary to perform most advanced and complicated procedures frequently required to consistently obtain optimal surgical results. Because your pet is part of the family, making sure they have the best of care is important to you and to VSC. Dr. Tangner and Dr. Streeter are both board certified veterinary surgeons that keep up with the latest techniques and procedures to care for your pet.

Welcome to Veterinary Surgery Center.

You can be assured of the best care for your pet by the only board certified small animal veterinary surgeons in private practice in Central Oklahoma.

Your pet will be reassured by our pleasant and safe atmosphere, our pet loving staff and certified veterinary technicians.

Our lobby is a comfortable, attractive and inviting to people and pets alike.

We have an onsite laboratory that allows us to provide quick and accurate testing. The lab also houses our modern and high-tech autoclave that sterilizes our instruments.

An accurate diagnosis is critical in treating any injury. Our X-ray machine is designed for pet diagnoses. We have a computer-assisted system to improve, store and transmit images as necessary.

A state of art CT scanner is being used to improve our diagnosis.

Our board certified surgeons know the best surgical techniques at hand and are assisted by certified veterinary technicians who help prepare patients for surgery and help evaluate patients during surgery with our high-tech monitors. We typically give all anesthetized cases intravenous fluids and monitor blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body temperature, CO2 levels, pulse quality, EKG, and heart and respiratory rates.

The best aseptic techniques are used to allow your pet the safest environment and fastest recovery with the lowest chance of infection or complications.

We use our 20-watt CO2 laser in selected cases to assist or eliminate conventional surgery.

After a surgery or other procedure pets need to be monitored to be sure they are recovering properly. The centrally located recovery area allows pets to be always under watchful eye by at least one of our staff.

After surgery sometimes extended care is needed. The Veterinary Surgery Center works with the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Hospital next-door when necessary to improve your pets care. The proximity of these care centers provides uninterrupted care for your pet during recovery.
